What is a certified Life Coach?

While searching for a personal life coach, you might come across an advertisement or two from someone claiming to be a "certified life coach." Many of those who claim to be certified life coaches end up charging more money than non-certified life coaches. With that in mind, is it worth paying the extra money to hire a certified life coach? In many ways it is, although it may not arise in your situation. Before understanding whether or not it is worth it, you need to understand what a life coach certificate means.

It is possible, although not recommended, to start a professional life coach business without being a certified life coach. All it really takes is to get people to hire you as a life coach, either on the Internet or by looking at an ad in the newspaper. Once you do that, you will be a professional life coach. However, a certified life coach has special training. It takes a lot of work to figure out what to say in different situations and how to help a person get through the things in their life that are holding them back. A life coach institute will offer training that can help a person be prepared for any number of experiences that someone who simply "proclaimed" themselves as a life coach simply does not have. With that being said, you can see that it would be a good idea to make sure you hire a certified life coach rather than a non-certified Life Coach.

Once the dust is cleared, training is what separates a certified life coach from someone without a certified life coach. Going to a life coach institute allows a person to gain more than a year of training and experience that they simply would not get otherwise. So if you are looking to hire a personal life coach, it is worth paying the extra money for an expert.
