A quick guide to the pressure washing process

 Power wash

The best way to remove stains from the exterior of a home before painting is by power washing. This method can be used with just water, but some experts suggest using detergent and water to fully remove dirt and other particles from old paint and keep the surface really clean before painting. In fact, this can guarantee a durable new coat of paint.

If you prefer to do it yourself, you can easily rent a pressure washer from a rental store. If you want to mix water with a detergent, choose a type of equipment that allows the mixture to enter the spray. Mix 1 pound of detergent for every 4 gallons of water and then spray, but in the rinse, you should use only water.

Pressure washing precautions

· High water pressure can cause difficulties in operating power washing equipment, which can lead to accidents and destruction.
· Too much time spent spraying an area can cause erosion or further damage to the home.
· If the wall is made of wood or vinyl panels, the pressure washing must be done carefully so as not to create moisture under and between the sidings. If this happens, moisture that does not have a free-flowing outlet that prevents it from evaporating can cause damage within the walls.
· Pressure washing can destroy paint in your home, especially if it is already in the fading or peeling stage.

2. Stairs
3. Cubes

Pressure or pressure washing is applicable to any surface that does not have cracks and to almost any type of finish. This process of cleaning the entire area to be painted is recommended to determine any damage that is not visible, subject to repair before applying the paint. Some homeowners want to whiten their home, and in doing so they use vinegar instead of bleach.

Tips on how to pressure wash

· Scrub the wall for mold before you begin.
· Use both hands to hold and operate the equipment so that it is firm and strong to spray. Never operate equipment while standing on a ladder.
· Cover plants, electrical appliances, or any delicate materials that may be affected by pressure washing with plastic, tape, or heavy cloth. If possible, remove outdoor furniture from the house.
· Hold wand firmly at approximately 45 degree angle and begin spraying ceilings, overhangs, gutters and downspouts. Then wave the wand from side to side in a steady motion. Hold the nozzle at least 2 feet from the wall and have a flexible forward and backward distance adjustment for optimal cleaning result.
