A nest leaf icon appears on the display if you save energy. If you only change the temperature by one degree, you can save up to five percent on your energy costs. The page view can point you in the right direction. Once the nest has learned your schedule, a temperature change will not affect it. But if you change the temperature several days in a row, the thermostat will learn a new schedule.

The Nest thermostat can be controlled from a smartphone, tablet or laptop. First, connect Nest to your home network and then download the free mobile app from Android Market or the Apple App Store. Once you have started the application, you can log in with your Nest account. Once you have paired the thermostat with your nest account, you will see icons for a house and a thermostat. You now have full remote control over your cooling and heating system. If you have two or more homes with two or more thermostats in your account, you will see icons for all of them. Now in the winter you can wake up to a warm house because the nest took care of the heat while you slept. There are other environmental adjustments the nest can make to keep you comfortable 24/7 while saving you money on utilities.
